Jon Kreider is seasoned artist from USA, whose journey through the lens has evolved from the black and white classrooms of his youth to the vibrant landscapes of the present digital age. From the age of 13 in 1975, Jon embarked on his artistic odyssey, delving into the captivating world of black and white photography.

His educational pursuits at the University of Florida unfolded a passion for the craft, guided by the influences of iconic photographers like Clyde Butcher and Ansel Adams. Butcher’s large-format finesse and Adams’ eloquent blend of nature and commercial prowess became Jon’s muses, shaping his early artistic sensibilities.

The middle phase of Jon’s life saw him navigating the rough waters of commercial fishing and captaining boats. However, destiny had a different course for him. After divesting from his business, Jon set sail for Central America, immersing himself in the recreational dive industry. This transition marked the genesis of his exploration into underwater photography, teaching diving, and capturing the mesmerizing depths of The Caribbean and Southeast Asia.

Jon’s narrative took a poignant turn with marriage in the Maldives and the joyous arrival of his son. Returning to the United States, he rekindled his love affair with photography, now with a wealth of diverse experiences. Currently based in Florida, Jon has established himself as a distinguished commercial photographer, specializing in architectural, interior design, aerial, and high-end real estate photography.

We asked Jon a few interesting questions to get to know him better and here is what he had to say;
